Graded Care Profile

A key priority for the implementation of the LSCB Neglect Strategy is for all practitioners who work with families who experience neglect to be trained to use the Graded Care Profile tool. This course is directed at practitioners and managers who work with children and families that experience neglect. 


By the end of the course participants will:

  • Be able to understand the challenges of identifying neglect in practice settings with children and young people and considering their 'lived lives'.

  • Being able to identify children and young people at risk of Neglect

  • Understand the use of and practical application of the Graded Care Profile when working alongside families to assess and effect change when neglect is an issue.

Participants will be expected to be familiar with the Cumbria multi-agency procedures:

Duration: 3 hours

The course booking process for all Cumbria County Council staff members has changed to self-service, resulting in staff booking their own courses through MyHR. Full guidance is available through links on InTouch and access to user guides are also available. As a result of these changes the booking process has become fully automated and confirmation and venue information (previously joining instructions) will be communicated through emails to both individuals and managers. Where a user does not have access to MyHR, then it will be the responsibility of their line manager to book them on the course.
