UNITYthis external link will open in a new window - Unity provides recovery services to individuals affected by a range of substances, including alcohol, illicit drugs and over the counter prescribed medication.  They welcome self-referrals or referrals can be made through the GP.

CHILDREN OF ADDICTED PARENTSthis external link will open in a new window (COAP) - COAP is an online community for young people living with a family member's addiction to drugs, alcohol or behaviour such as gambling.  Over 5,000 messages have been posted by young people from all over the UK and worldwide to the message boards.  COAP offers a welcoming, safe and supportive online community which continues to grow; letting young people know they are not alone in their experience.

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICSthis external link will open in a new window (NACOA) - Set up 'to address the needs of children growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism or a similar addictive problem.  This includes children of all ages, many of whose problems only become apparent in adulthood'.

ALATEENthis external link will open in a new window - Support groups in the UK and EIRE for 12-17 year olds.  Alateen is for teenage relatives and friends of alcoholics and part of Al-Anon.  Alateen believe alcoholism is a family disease that affects everyone in the family.
