In order to provide effective scrutiny the LSCB is an independent body as defined in Working Together 2015. It should not be subordinate to, nor subsumed within other local structures.
The Vision for the LSCB was agreed in March 2014 and is the result of work undertaken by the Communication, Engagement and Participation Sub Group with front-line staff from across the partnership:
‘We are working together to keep children and young people safe in Cumbria’
An Ofsted inspection, of Children’s Services in March 2015, included a review of the LSCB.
The LSCB was judged as ‘Requires Improvement’.
The whole report is available on the Ofsted website but included below is the section on the Cumbria LSCB.
Cumbria LSCB welcomes this report as external validation of progress made so far with the development of the LSCB. The areas for development have been incorporated into the LSCB Business Plan 2015-18 and progress will be monitored through the LSCB Business Group.
The LSCB does not endorse any other agency or organisations training. For individual and single agency training responsibilities please refer to the LSCB Training Strategy
